They’ll convince you that it’s about national security. As I’d
been reading up on Richard M. Nixon in Nixonland by Rich Perlstein and
other sources. Our country’s politics with controlling the masses to gain power
and advance one’s riches—It was from Nixon’s Playbook like a recent myth, “They’re
eating your cats and dogs…” The only people that would be eating your cats and dogs
would be the members of the GOP, so greedy to do so. Why? Because they want you
to be dismayed. They want to oppress you and manipulate your rights to make
themselves rich. And currently, they’re having their way with you and your
soul. No church, mosque, temple nor shul will save it.
In the late 1940s into the 1950s, McCarthy had gone after
Alger Hiss, a high-ranking state department official for espionage. Whitaker
Chambers, a Russian spy of sorts handed the name Alger Hiss over to save himself.
Chambers delivers Alger Hiss to be questioned in front of congress by McCarthy,
then Nixon.[1]
They were some of the attack dogs for McCarthyism.[2]
This was in order to thwart communism; however, Nixon angles himself edging
towards power. Nixon does this by becoming most known in those hearings that
hold the attention in national news in and around 1950. That year is the year
that the charges of espionage against Alger Hiss become null and void due to
the statute of limitations. Nixon knowing this, having the ability to get
people to talk—Even getting others to say things that lead to any form of guilt
or relaxing a person to gain more information from them, was Nixon’s poker
playing asset.
At one point, Nixon decides to craftily have a somewhat
private conversation with Hiss. Hiss agrees to have such a conversation with
Nixon. Nixon knows he could possibly get Hiss on perjury charges, as the statute
of limitations on perjury to congress was five years.[3]
As Nixon relaxes Hiss in a somewhat private conversation behind closed doors,
no cameras, no news reporters. Hiss inadvertently reveals that he’d perjured
himself twice. Each charge holds a five-year prison sentence.[4]
Hiss serves 44 months of the prison sentence and is labeled a traitor. Nixon
becomes Dwight D. Eisenhower’s Vice-Presidential pick and becomes the 36th
VPOTUS in 1953.
Nixon nearly becomes dismayed as he’d not beaten Kennedy to become
POTUS in 1961.[5] It’s
a low for Nixon. Meanwhile, the Republican party is eyeing Ronald Reagan and George
Wallace among the Republican nominees to vie for the presidency in 1968. Nixon
somehow comes back alive in politics as he’d begun to feel better about himself
as a politician. Nixon travels to Asia, working as if on foreign policy in 1966.
He indirectly implies that President Johnson has no map out of the Vietnam War in
1967/1968. Interest rates hit 5.5% by 1968. Nixon implies it’s a Johnson
recession coming upon us. During this time Nixon travels the country speaking
in the towns of Ohio, Kentucky, Utah, Colorado, Iowa and the like. When Nixon goes
to Davenport, Iowa his aim is to unseat the younger Democratic congressman who’d
beaten an older Fred Schwengel, an incumbent Republican in the previous
election. Congressman John Schmidhauser was born in the Bronx, NY. The Democratic
Congressman Schmidhauser is confident when Nixon comes to town in Iowa; however;
preceding Nixon’s arrival the rumors that rioters sent by Martin Luther King from
Chicago, were coming on motorcycles to rape their children. [6]
This myth was circulated in the 1960s and beyond. As ridiculous as that sounds,
fast-forward to 2024, there were people in those same states believing that
immigrants who were hard-working were here and eating our cats and dogs.[7][8]
People will still use the excuse of a rumor or two to protect anyone’s
knowledge about their ignorance and thus their fears of the unknown. They’ll
remain indoctrinated in their small town, perhaps rural ideologies and
falsehoods, not allowing for the expanse of learning about other people’s
living and cultures. That is where hate has its stranglehold on the American Experiment.---Jody-Lynn
